Kim

I have been involved in skincare and beauty for 30 years. I worked at a prestigious health spa for some years and also had many corporate clients. For the last 15 years I have been the owner/manager of a therapy room in a health club. I am passionate about giving people treatments that they can enjoy at that moment, but also take away knowledge and products which they can use everyday. I'm very excited at the prospect of working with FTW as a natural progression of my passion!

Gwyn

Gwyn Featonby. BSc (hons),RGN, RSCN, LicAc. I have been a practicing nurse and complementary therapist for over 30 years. I use many therapies including massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and acupuncture and am currently Director of Seven Wellbeing Centre at Butterwick Hospice, a social enterprise company set up to generate an income for the hospice. A large part of my role is to educate health professionals about the use of complementary therapies within the health care setting, and to teach complementary therapy practitioners about the specialized areas of palliative and peadiatric palliative care thus supporting a more globally integrated approach to patient care. My interest in the beauty industry comes purely from a belief that to be beautiful on the outside you must work to feel good on the inside so I am keen to embrace any therapy which works with the bodies energy rather than having a superficial effect. Up until now this has focused on the use of facial acupuncture so I was absolutely thrilled to discover Face The World and see its benefits.

Hayley

I first became interested in complementary therapies after the birth of my children and I found that conventional medicine on its own didn't help with what I needed. I trained in Indian head massage in 2006 which was the beginning of my journey along my holistic path. Various forms of massage training followed along with becoming an Usui and Karuna® Reiki Master. Reiki has been a life changer for me, my clients and my students and has helped open my eyes in many ways which has lead to me setting up Serenity Touch, my business which is based at my home in South Norfolk where I practice and teach out of my Therapy Room.In 2013 I came second in the Holistic Business of the Year Awards and had the joy of finding out about Face the World (who came first). I experienced the Holistic Signature Facial and thought it would add another dimension to what I already teach, the different forms of Reiki from First Degree through to Reiki Master Teacher. Hence becoming a tutor for Face the World. Being able to pass the teachings on of fabulous therapies makes life and work a joy! I love what I do.

Lauren

I am a fully qualified SAAHSP and ITEC Health and skin care professional. I have been in the industry for 8 years, and I have had the privilege to practise around the world and manage high end and exclusive salons. I moved onto working for myself as a mobile therapist, which led to me opening my own salon. I have such passion for beauty therapy; it promotes the feeling of well-being in everybody. I get the greatest satisfaction knowing that I can make someone feel fabulous, help them to relax, promote healing or even just improve someone’s day. I feel blessed that I get to do something I love every day.

Zoe

Following an initial career in Financial Services, I retrained passing my HND in Beauty Therapy in 1998. After gaining experience working at a number of salons including the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, I set up Preens Beauty & Holistic Centre in 2004. Having outgrown my original salon which was an extension to my house, we renovated a High Street property and moved into a beautiful new salon in May 2011, employing an additional 4 team members to cope with increasing demand. I am passionate about professionalism and delivering the best possible experience for our customers – and at the heart of this training. I train my team personally & via external specialists, and continually update my own skills to ensure we excel in every treatment we perform to exceed our customer’s expectations. I look forward to guiding therapists to perfect their treatments as they embark on their FTW journey.

I’m Karin Douglas, and I’ve been a complementary therapist since 1998. I have a background in Community Learning and Development, and more recently taught therapies in colleges in and around Glasgow, with seven years as Course Leader for Holistic Therapies at Motherwell College. During my time there I qualified as a Further Education teacher. In July this year I took the plunge and left my lecturing job to set up Energise! Therapies and Training, specialising in complementary therapies courses and treatment. I also co-own Therapies Learning Centre, with my colleague Kim Gibb – between us we offer a full range of accredited holistic and beauty training courses. I totally fell in love with Face The World! The concept of the facial was the first thing that attracted me, and when I tried the fantastic products and experienced the treatment (and the attention to detail) for myself, I was hooked! I’m really excited to be part of the team of tutors and can’t wait to spread Face The World word further!

Angie

I personally chose Face The World to compliment the spa's unrivalled range of holistic and natural therapies from around the world, especially loving how the whole concept of the holistic signature facial takes you on a journey through country to country with the combined music and aromas. As an experienced holistic massage therapist, Usui reiki master, and spiritual & intuitive healer, integrating deep healing techniques along with treatments gives the client a much deeper and profound level of relaxation and soul level healing creating a truly holistic experience. My passion lies within massage and healing work as the effects can be truly amazing. I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with other therapists about to embark on their FTW journey.

After a very long and satisfying career I was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the College of Radiographers when I retired from the post in 1996. I trained as an aromatherapist in 1996, and setting up my own private practice, I have been lucky enough to work with a diverse range of NHS patients particularly within cancer care. I also spent a stint as aromatherapy advisor for Radio BBC Tees! My current role is as a practitioner and senior tutor at Seven Wellbeing Centre, a social enterprise company that works to generate complementary therapies for adults and children at Butterwick Hospice. I mainly teach ITEC level 3 aromatherapy, massage, A&P and related CPD courses and am really looking forward to delivering the FTW training.

Cathy

Hi, I'm Cathy and am proud and excited to be the first FTW practitioner in North Devon and Cornwall, and their only tutor. I have been a holistic therapist for over 15 years having originally trained in body massage and reflexology. I have extended the therapies I use over the years to include aromatherapy, FirstLine Therapy, Nutrition (BSc) and Herbal medicine and meditation therapy and courses. One area of work that I have never really developed is the facial treatments and that is because I haven't, until now, found products and a facial treatment that I enjoy using either on myself or my clients. Now I can honestly tell people about how exciting and wonderful the FTW facial and products are. I am very much looking forward to training more people in this unique treatment.

Melanie

My interest in holistic therapies began almost 20 years ago when reflexology started my recovery from a long term illness. It developed to a passion 8 years ago. I really wanted to make people feel the way I felt when I had a treatment and that inspired me to train, firstly in reflexology, and then massage and aromatherapy, facials and myofascial therapy and have been working full time ever since. I care passionately about people's wellbeing and feel that time is precious and if someone uses their time to come to me for a treatment, then I need to make them feel marvellous when they leave! I had been searching for an exceptional facial and as soon as I heard about Face The World I knew it was what I was looking for. I have been enthusiastic about it right from the start and have many clients who absolutely love it. The skin care is divine and the facial routine is a delight with the unique choreographed music. I always enjoy doing these treatments and love to introduce it to other therapists to enhance what they can offer to their own clients.

Sarah

I began my holistic and beauty therapy career by learning Reiki and then moved into massage and beauty therapy. I have been running my own home salon for the last seven years and was very pleased to find Face the World as they are such beautiful high-end products. It is a challenge for a small salon to find exclusive ranges without a major financial outlay, let alone with such a special treatment to offer. As well as running my practice, I work as a tutor - teaching and also writing a wide range of courses. Right now I am training to deliver First Aid courses and I hope to go on to deliver specialist First Aid training for the therapy sector. I enjoy the variety that my working life brings me as I love teaching and enjoy giving treatments to clients that lift their mood and enhance their self-esteem. The Face the World treatment is a wonderful fusion of beauty facial with holistic massage and the music brings in a whole new layer of experience for the client.

After being trained as a Fitness Instructor and discovering my passion for bodywork I enrolled on a Holistic Therapy Course in Lewes College East Sussex in 2002. I went on to do a number of advanced Massage Courses with “Jing” in Brighton and this was where I completed the most comprehensive Hot Stone Course in England. I work in a busy Osteopathic Clinic in Rochester were I offer Massage, Hot Stones, Reflexology and FTW treatments. I have also completed Level 3 award in Education and Training CIEH and hope to gain more skills in this area. I strongly believe in the healing qualities of massage and think the added benefits of result-driven products and relaxing world music to an amazing choreographed routine is a great avenue to channel my therapeutic energy!

Christine

I began my career in the beauty industry in 1970 and in the years since I have worked as both a mobile and a home therapist, eventually owning my own successful salons in the Home Counties and Norfolk. Now based in Wales, I am concentrating on my passion of Beauty Education. I have a teaching degree and have undertaken training across a wide range of disciplines, gaining in-depth knowledge of how factors as diverse as stress and nutrition can impact on skin health. My philosophy is holistic in nature and the treatments and training that I provide reflect this philosophy. I really look forward to meeting you and sharing in this new and exciting concept when you join Face The World.
