Anita Hatch

I have been in the beauty industry for 17 years. I studied as a mature student at 23, gaining full beauty qualifications and have since gone on to study many other beauty treatments. I have worked in various salons, a health farm and on cruise ships as well as a mobile therapist performing treatments from my home based salon. After being offered my business awards in 2002, I opened my own salon in 2005 in a real retreat village setting just outside of Eastbourne. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength with both the clientele and treatments list increasing. I also enjoy fund-raising for our local hospice by opening the salon for various events. I offer a non-rushed, friendly service where competitive prices and quality treatments are paramount.

I am passionate about good skin care, products and for clients to really care and look after their skin - with the right help and advice! I have the European (French & Spanish) background philosophy and training for self care and pampering without the guilt of treating oneself. I have been in Business with my own Beauty Salon in Horsham, West Sussex since 1982. I am also a qualified Tutor and Counsellor. Nowadays, I like to concentrate on the inner being of my clients, their health, soul and happiness creating a haven of peace and tranquillity if even for a few moments for their treats. Life is such a treadmill and some need more than just a Therapist to treat them - they need a confidante and some extra special pampering to set them up. With my range of holistic experience and the right products I feel I can achieve that!

I actually started my career in beauty therapy relatively late in life, although it had always been something I wanted to do. When my two children started school full time, I went back to college and gained my qualifications. From starting out at home, with a few clients, I now own a salon that employs four therapists and a nail technician. One of the therapists is my daughter, Laura, who has joined me in the business. Our joint claim to fame is that we both trained at the same college and both gained the honour of Student of the Year awards. Although I love all aspects of beauty therapy, my passion is for facial treatments. New ingredients and techniques fascinate me and I gain great satisfaction from making a difference to clients' skins - particularly if they are problematic.

Gayatri Babhania

I completed my beauty course in December 1989, for which I have received the International Aestericienes Diploma. In 1990, I travelled to India to train for Indian Bridal Hair/Make-up and Henna for an intensive course for 6 weeks. Once back in England, my father helped me set-up my business. I got in touch with different skin-care companies to see which would be best suited for my salon. After 17 years in business, we have built up a full and varied range of beauty treatments and have been nominated by the Asian AStyles awards in 4 categories: - Best Salon; Best Make-up Artist; Best Hairstylist and Best Henna Artist.

I have been in the beauty industry for the past 7 years, and opened my own business 5 years ago. My aim has always been to provide relaxing, unhurried treatment where clients can escape for a while, and developed a successful salon business with this philosophy. I also teach beauty and holistic therapies and have written and had accredited 16 training courses. In conjunction with a colleague I am now opening a larger and newly refurbished training academy in Kidderminster to continue and grow this side of the business. I am very passionate about all aspects of beauty and holistic therapies, and feel it is very important that new therapists receive a thorough grounding in all facets of this business before they move into the workplace.

I went to College in South Africa and am fully qualified through SAAHSP and ITEC. I have been in the beauty industry for 5 years, where my career has taken me both nationally and internationally. I have run several salons both here in the UK and South Africa. I started as a mobile therapist, which led to me opening my own salon, Body & Soul in Oxford. I have a passion for beauty therapy and really enjoy working in this Industry as it promotes the feeling of wellbeing in everybody. I gain the greatest satisfaction knowing that I can make someone feel fabulous, help them to relax, promote healing or even just improve someone’s day. I am serious about high standards and professionalism and take great pride in my work.

I have 13 years experience in beauty therapy and continue to provide for clients today. I am passionate about all my therapies especially skincare and thoroughly enjoy learning about and discovering new treatments. I am Director of Ilumia Health and Beauty which has now been established 8 years. I split myself between marketing the salon, developing the staff and organising events at Ilumia. I also teach beauty therapy at a local college.

Nichola Wilcox

I am a qualified Holistic, Beauty and Reflexology teacher and practitioner. I am very passionate about my job. I run my own busy salon in Wales and have been teaching all over the country. I also have my own successful Training Academy of which I have 12 courses accredited. I enjoy training other beauticians’ therapies that their clients can benefit from and which will in return give their salon a good reputation so that clients will continue to return time and time again. I have a wide variety of knowledge and skills in all areas of my work which allows me to be successful in business which I would like to share with all my students. I look forward to meeting you on one of the courses with Face The World!

I have been working in the beauty industry my entire working life. I have a wealth of different experiences from manager of a hotel-based spa; Account Development for Clarins - travelling to Health Farms, Hotels, Spas, Department Stores and Chemists; achieving Guinot Crown Salon status and winning “Guinot Beauty Therapist of the Year”. I now have my own Beauty Salon and after just 18 months have won the Collin Business Excellence Award. I adore the beauty industry - it is so diverse and continually evolving. As I mature the holistic side of Beauty Therapy is paramount but I want visible results even more than in my younger years!

Since training at Champney’s 25 years ago I have loved every aspect this creative industry has offered me. The wide variety of techniques I’ve learned, the people I’ve encountered and places it has taken me, has enriched my life more than I could have imagined when I first started out. But at the end of the day my greatest pleasure has been the relationship I have with my clients, knowing that every treatment given, every product sold has culminated in great client satisfaction. I now have the wonderful opportunity of running my own salon “ThameSpa” where I have created my own perfect space for clients to spend time in complete comfort. Here we put the emphasis on the personal journey a treatment will take you on.

Sharon Finnigan

I have 30 years wealth of experience in the beauty industry incorporating training and assessing into my CV over the last 5 years. I now run a busy spa with 5 treatment rooms and 6 members of staff. Urban Spas' objective is to take clients away from the hustle and bustle of city life into a haven of tranquillity - myself and my therapists aim to give them an experience that lasts way after they have left the salon! Skincare is my passion and I insist on adequate and professional consultations in order for our clients to obtain the results-driven treatments they deserve.
